The Transit Chassis Cab is available as an EcoBlue Hybrid. This technology helps to reduce fuel consumption and lower emissions, with a small battery-powered electric motor providing extra support to the diesel engine when needed. Kinetic energy and regenerative braking recharges the 48-volt hybrid battery while you drive.

It uses real-time adaptive shift-scheduling too, which enables the transmission to effortlessly adapt to changing conditions. So, whether you’re cruising on the motorway or tackling difficult terrain, you’ll always be in the right gear at the right time. A 6-speed automatic transmission is available on vehicles with front-wheel drive.
The Transit is equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission, making it more economical and efficient. Once you reach a high enough speed, just slip your van into 6th gear and save on fuel while you’re cruising along. You’ll find the gear changes are smooth and quick too.
The innovative Ford EcoGuide system continually assesses the effects of your driving behaviour on your fuel consumption. The system analyses your speed, gear shifting, braking and anticipation levels, plus the number of short and long journeys you make. EcoGuide then feeds this information back to you via a display on the dashboard. The aim is to encourage you to drive more efficiently, reduce fuel consumption and save you money over the life of the vehicle.
When you stop at traffic lights or your vehicle is idling in a queue, this technology can automatically switch off the engine. When you're ready to move, just depress the clutch and select first gear as usual, or release the brake on an automatic, and the system restarts. Auto Start-Stop is particularly effective in town and city streets, where it can cut fuel consumption by up to 10%.
Low rolling resistance tyres on the Transit Chassis Cab are designed to reduce the energy required to make the tyres roll. This means less power is required to move, and fuel consumption is reduced over the life of the vehicle.
This innovative option controls the rate of acceleration according to whether your vehicle is un-laden or part-laden. As a result, you can expect to lower your fuel consumption by up to 15%, depending on your driving style. The technology can also help reduce the amount of wear and tear on the engine, brakes and tyres, along with other components.

Intelligent All-Wheel Drive is a torque on demand system delivering surefooted progress over challenging surfaces. At the touch of a button or in response to driving conditions, AWD keeps you and your cargo squarely on the road. And for a weight gain of just -60kg, you get added versatility without sacrificing payload.
The Lane Keeping System uses a forward-looking camera to detect if you’re unintentionally drifting out of lane. Lane Keeping Aid provides gentle steering torque assistance to help guide you back into your lane. If your wheel touches the line or edge of the road, Lane Keeping Alert vibrates the steering wheel and displays a visual warning. The technology automatically deactivates at speeds below 64 km/h, or can be turned off manually.
Set your own pace with Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control. The system can identify the prevailing speed limit and automatically maintain your selected speed within the limit detected. Advanced radar technology scans for slower traffic in front of you, and can automatically adjust your speed to maintain a pre-set gap from the vehicle ahead. When the traffic has cleared, your vehicle will resume its pre-selected speed.
Cruise control with Adjustable Speed Limiter helps keep your vehicle within a pre-set speed limit of your choice. It can save you fuel, minimise the chance of you speeding and, like all cruise control systems, allows you to maintain your chosen speed whilst saving you from having to keep your foot on the accelerator pedal.
Torque Vectoring Control reacts to the road surface 100 times per second. (That’s 33 times faster than the blink of an eye.) Using this information, it balances the amount of power delivered to each of the two front wheels. This maximises grip and sharpens handling, helping you round corners and over undulations in the road.
With Selectable Drive modes, you can tailor how the Transit handles to suit a particular job or terrain. Choose from Normal or Eco Mode and with All-Wheel Drive or Mud/Ruts.
Electric power-assisted steering provides varying amounts of assistance depending on vehicle speed. The system also helps to improve fuel economy by using electric power instead of drawing power from the engine.
Hill Start Assist temporarily stops you rolling backwards or forwards when making a hill start. The system works by maintaining pressure to the braking system for an extra 2-3 seconds, giving you more time and control as you move your foot from brake pedal to accelerator. It’s also useful when you’re stopping and starting on slippery surfaces.
Highly efficient Bi-Xenon headlights produce a bright natural light with a precise pattern. They can also sense when it is dark and will automatically adjust to various driving conditions to offer the optimal light pattern. A useful night-driving aid, Auto High Beam temporarily dips your headlights when it detects oncoming traffic or a vehicle ahead, stopping you dazzling other drivers. It then automatically reverts back to high beam, giving you maximum visibility.
SYNC 3 is our most advanced version to date. It’s faster and easier to use, with enhanced voice commands and even more functionality. The interface has larger buttons for improved usability, and the colour Touchscreen now features pinch-and-swipe gestures found on smartphones and tablets for even more intuitive navigation. The driving seat is fully adjustable, along with the steering wheel (both for rake and reach), so you can find your ideal driving position. So the Transit Chassis Cab offers plenty of stowage spaces, including three open-topped bins on top of the dashboard, a dock for your mobile or tablet, twin bottle-holders and a lidded glovebox which can store A4 files, your tablet, or a small laptop.
The Double Chassis Cab offers even more. The passenger seats have lift-up base cushions and under-seat compartments, for carrying tools and equipment out of sight. While the front centre seat has a fold-down back that converts into a handy work surface.
As well as two 12V power sockets, you can specify an optional 150 Watt/230V socket located between the driver’s and passengers’ seats: ideal for charging tools, laptops or other equipment without the need for special adaptors.
This useful technology makes it almost impossible to put the wrong fuel in your vehicle, because the wrong nozzle simply won’t fit. Even better, as Ford Easy Fuel is a capless system, you’ll never have to handle a dirty fuel cap again.
To avoid accidental damage, power-foldable mirrors fold inwards when you’re parked. Tucked back, they also protect the stylish integrated indicators.
Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection uses RADAR and camera technology to scan the road ahead. If a collision risk with a vehicle, pedestrian or cyclist is detected, it’ll then provide you with a warning. If you don’t respond in time, the system can automatically apply up to full braking force to help reduce the severity of, or even eliminate, some frontal collisions. Emergency Brake Assist helps your vehicle achieve maximum braking effectiveness in an emergency situation. The system senses how much pressure you’ve applied to the brake yourself and automatically increases it, if necessary.
Electronic Stability Control constantly monitors your vehicle’s progress. It senses when a vehicle is losing grip and automatically applies a braking pulse to individual wheels, stabilising it. Using advanced sensors from the anti-lock braking and Traction Control System it monitors the behaviour of the vehicle.
Curve Control senses when a driver takes a curve too quickly, and can rapidly reduce engine torque – and apply brakes to individual wheels – to help keep the vehicle safely under control.
Ford’s unique roll-rate sensor helps the Roll Stability Control system to keep the tyres grounded, specifically under conditions where there’s a high centre of gravity and when driving through off-camber turns.
Trailer Sway Control detects ‘snaking’ or trailer sway and reduces your vehicle’s speed to help solve the problem, making towing more controlled. The system slows the vehicle down by reducing the engine’s torque and gradually increasing the brake pressure on all wheels.
If any of your tyres starts to lose pressure during your journey, the Tyre Pressure Monitoring SystemTooltip warns you immediately if there’s a puncture by lighting up an icon on the instrument panel.
Driver Alert System constantly monitors your driving behaviour and is designed to detect any changes that could be caused by fatigue. If the system identifies you’re becoming less vigilant, a warning icon appears in the display, suggesting you take a break. If your driving alertness further declines, the message is repeated and combined with a chime.
A Thatcham Category 1 alarm is a sophisticated system that automatically arms itself when you double-lock the vehicle and will sound a powerful alarm if triggered by forced entry, the vehicle being lifted, or if the motion sensors pick up any movement inside. The technology is also designed to help prevent unwanted towing of the vehicle. All door locks on the Transit Chassis Cab are protected by anti-tamper shielding designed to prevent them being broken by force. And with remote control central door locking now more secure than ever, you choose which individual doors to lock and unlock.
