How do I authorise another user in the FordPass®* App?

You can grant other users to have access to remote commands for your vehicle. When any additional user makes a request, you will receive a message in your Message Centre.

Important: Do not grant access to requesters if the following applies:

  • You do not recognise the person requesting access.
  • You did not invite someone to request access.
  • You believe the request is suspicious. 

    Note: We encourage you to contact Ford about suspicious vehicle requests to help protect you and your vehicle.

Authorise Another FordPass User

Select the dropdown with your FordPass App experience for more details on how to approve a vehicle access request. 

FordPass App 5.X Experience

To approve vehicle connection access:

  1. Log in to the FordPass App. 
  2. Go to the Vehicle home screen.
  3. Tap on the Access Requests card below the remote commands.

    Note: If you dismissed this card previously, continue with step 4 onward. 

  4. Scroll down and select Settings.
  5. Tap Vehicle Access
  6. Select Access Requests.
    • To approve a request:
      1. Tap Accept
      2. Select Accept on the pop-up message to confirm the approval. 
    • To decline a request:
      1. Tap the X
      2. Select Decline on the pop-up message to confirm the denial. 

If you experience any issues, contact us through Account > Contact Help in your FordPass App. 

FordPass App 4.X Experience

To approve vehicle activation access:

  1. Log in to the FordPass App. 
  2. Go to the Account screen.
  3. Scroll down and select the Message Centre tile. 
  4. Locate and select the Vehicle Access Request message.  
  5. Choose one of the following options:
    • Tap Yes to grant the user access to commands. FordPass will require you to enter your Username and Password to authenticate the access request.
    • Tap No to reject the request. The denied user can request four more times after their first request. If the request is denied for all five requests, they will receive a Request Blocked message
  6. Tap Next to complete the request.
