What are the owner responsibilities for maintaining the Ford warranty?
The owner is expected to:
- Make sure that the vehicle is serviced in accordance to Ford specification. A tolerance of not more than one month or 1,000 miles (1,500 kilometres), which ever occurs first, after the actual scheduled service due mileage/date will be accepted as a valid service history.
- Properly maintain the vehicle in accordance with Ford maintenance schedules.
- Make sure the service and maintenance records within the Service Portfolio are completed and receipts are retained as evidence of servicing and scheduled maintenance being carried out.
- Make sure the vehicle is serviced using genuine Ford branded parts and correct specification fluids, or parts and fluids that match the genuine Ford branded parts and correct specification fluids.
- Present their vehicle to an authorized dealer for repair as soon as possible after a defect is identified. Minimizing the affect a defect has on the vehicle and the nature of the repair.
- Properly maintain paint and bodywork by regular cleaning in accordance with Ford instructions.
- Make sure that the body panels are examined regularly in accordance with body and paint check schedules detailed at the rear of the vehicles Service Portfolio.
- Make sure the results of completed body and paint checks are recorded within the vehicles Service Portfolio and any repairs required are carried out in a timely manner.
