How to handle fuel leaks
If your vehicle is leaking fuel you should get it to your local dealership as soon as possible for investigation and diagnosis of the cause.
A leaking fuel line can be discovered by looking for fuel puddles under your vehicle when parked. A fuel-injection line may also leak, causing a smell of fuel fumes during and immediately after driving. A fuel-tank vent hose may also leak, causing unburned fuel to exit your fuel system as vapour.
The fuel gauge may drop a small or large amount, depending on the size of the leak. If you notice this, you should have an inspection to determine if the tank is leaking. You may need to call your recovery service to take your vehicle to your local dealer.
