How Does Wireless Charging Work?

Wireless charging is available for certain smartphones*, which means it’s never been easier to make sure your devices are always ready to use.

The charging area is on the centre console or lower instrument panel. You can charge a device if the vehicle is on, when in accessory mode, or anytime SYNC is on. To begin charging, place the device on the centre of the charging surface with the charging side down. The charging stops after your device reaches a full charge.

You can see which Ford models offer this feature in our Brochures. For more guidance specific to your vehicle please download an Owner's Manual.

*Qi compatible phones and those with an ACV Qi charging case. Many phones are able to charge wirelessly, to be compatible your phone device will need to have Qi or you will need to have Qi charging case.
